How Bidit Works

Bidit is a capability used by Zamel’s to allow a customer to make an offer on selected items, rather than paying the listed price. When you see a Bidit prompt on a product, you can submit a private offer for what you'd like to pay, rather than just buying at the listed price.

Bidit checks your offer against the rules Zamel’s has set and responds in seconds with one of:

  • Accept: Your offer is approved and you can check out at the Accepted price.
  • Counter-offer: Zamel’s suggests an alternative price to you. You can accept it, and that is your new price, or you can decline by simply leaving the page.
  • Voucher or alternative: Sometimes you'll be offered a voucher or an alternative experience.
  • Decline: If you have 2 declined offers in one product session, it means that your offers weren't accepted this time. If your offers are declined on a specific product, you will not be able to use Bidit again on that product until the cooldown period shown or made clear in the Bidit interface has ended. Things change regularly, so we recommend you come back and try again.

Here are some common questions and answers about Bidit

Am I bidding against other customers?

No, this is just between you and Zamel’s. Your offer is private. You are not competing with anyone else. Not an auction and instant interactions.

● How many bids a day can I make?

You can make up to 2 bids, per product, per day. If your offers are declined on a specific product, you will not be able to use Bidit again on that product until the cooldown period shown or made clear in the Bidit interface has ended. You are able to continue shopping on the site normally. You can also find another Bidit enabled product and try again.

● How long is the accepted price held for?

A Bidit accepted price is available until the expiry time shown in the Bidit interface. You can check by going to the product you bid on and clicking the Bidit button; your accepted price will be shown again if it is still available. If the accepted price is no longer shown, it has expired or reset, and you may need to submit a new offer. Zamel’s may change listed prices and Bidit offer rules from time to time, but those changes usually apply only to future offers. If your Bidit price has already been accepted, it will remain available until the expiry time shown in the Bidit interface, unless there is an obvious pricing error, technical issue, misuse, suspected fraud, or the product becomes unavailable.

● Do I have to use Bidit?

No, if you simply want to pay the listed price, you can add the product to cart using the normal steps

● Who are you buying from?

Once your offer is accepted, Zamel’s will make that accepted Bidit price available to you for checkout for the period shown in the Bidit interface. The sale is not complete until you complete checkout and payment through Zamel’s. Your purchase is with Zamel’s. As the seller, they are responsible for processing your payment, fulfilling your order, and handling returns and customer service. Bidit Pty Ltd (ACN 691 094 372) provides the technology that provides the offer process. Bidit does not sell goods, take payment, or hold any goods.

A FEW THINGS TO KNOW:

  • Not every product has Bidit on it; only products that Zamel’s have enabled.
  • Offers aren't guaranteed to be accepted. Zamel’s sets the rules, and your offer may not be accepted.
  • If your offer is accepted, Zamel’s will make that accepted price available to you for the period shown in the Bidit interface, subject to stock availability, checkout completion before expiry, and correction of any obvious pricing or technical error. The sale is not complete until you complete checkout and payment through Zamel’s. If you don't complete the checkout in time, the agreed price may lapse.
  • Accepted prices are private. Other customers may have made different offers and paid different prices. There is no public "Bidit price."
  • You pay through normal checkout. No payment details go to Bidit.
  • Returns and remedies are handled by Zamel’s. Nothing in the Bidit process limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law, including any rights you may have to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy. Zamel’s returns policy applies in addition to those rights.
